La Paz - Deep Sea Report

A sure sign of summer when we have big dorado like this showing up! The big bulls were out in force this week.
This week started with great yellow tail fishing we heard stories of some big dorado coming in early but didn’t have much luck hooking them until early this week. Along with Dorado striped marlin are around and biting bait.

As I look into the future I see the water getting warmer, better Rooster fishing, the Dorado arrival in full force, and the Bill Fish that we are starting to see now take offered baits.

The local commercial fisherman are still delivering good numbers of Yellowtail to the market place, but most of the sport fishing fleets in the area have given up on the big green backs and are fishing closer to the islands.

San Diego Deep Sea Report

We're catching Albacore and Bluefin Tuna up to 30 pounds 70 - 80 miles out of San Diego. Fishing conditions are excellent with mild seas and good water temperatures. July fishing has started out well!!

Todays count is in and we are all at limits of Albacore and 105 Sand Bass, 2 Yellowtail, 17 Calico Bass, 10 Barracuda. 1 Bluefin Tuna.

The Sand Bass and Barracuda have been biting! We have some special trips lined up.

Cabo Deep Sea Report

The passing of storms to the south, along with the southeasterly winds that came with them resulted in confused seas offshore to the south. Our normal southern current flow met with the wind swells from the storm systems and the result was pretty choppy, but not dangerous, surface conditions.

BILLFISH: It was a weak week for Striped Marlin, only a few boats were able to get releases on any, but most boats had trouble finding fish that were willing to eat. There were reports of a few Blue Marlin being seen in the patterns up toward the Punta Gorda area.

YELLOWFIN TUNA: A few fish were up to 150 pounds and most of them were in the 30-40 pound class and they were not too far away.
